Speculation is one term related to a business entity such as forex trading. Most people might know that it is a type of business where a person involve in trading market and predict some commodities price which might give them so much benefit in the future. Since there area many commodities of which being traded in financial market – such as currencies, gold, and oil; most people who want to involve in it surely must learn some skill used to predict what will going to be happen in market. There are also many forex trading platform that can be recognized today, and each of which designed well to meet all requirements of a trader.

In broader sense, however, some people especially beginner might need a guide through which they can learn more about all tradable options that already available in the financial market. Such guidance for forex trading can be found easily by way opening an online source located at, for example, Iforex.es; although this website only one place which able to provide guidance for those who fluently speaking Spanish. For those who are speaking English, there is also other option like one which provided by Iforex.com.

The two websites I have stated above is some places where you can learn much more about forex trading. And it is certain that both of them surely useful for those who want to honing the skill in predicting financial market.

“The 8 Cardinal Mistakes of Communication”

Have you ever been involved in a conversation process that seemed to flow effortlessly as you and your party seamlessly exchanged information?

On the other hand have you ever been involved in the same type of exchange and felt like you were beating a dead horse? The conversation seemed to be hitting a brick wall while you and your party had no rapport?

These terrible conversation traps happen all too often, especially in the business community. It seems that while we get caught up in our hectic, fast-paced day, the rules of effective communication get lost or forgotten. The most important rule I teach my students in our communications seminar is the importance of constantly reviewing and practicing “the basics.”

My research into the communication field clearly demonstrates that there are 8 cardinal mistakes made in communication. Although they are common sense, they seem to have been forgotten. These 8 mistakes can cause problem solving to falter, relationships to crumble, hurt feelings, and violate rapport. Let’s review all 8, and as a rule of thumb try to keep them “sacred” as we interact with others on a personal and professional level. My goal in this article is to enhance your communication abilities and at the same time make you shine in front of others.

1. Not listening – Notice that this mistake is listed at number one. It is a very common error for your mind to wander occasionally and for you to lose track of what someone was saying. For this mistake you politely apologize and move on. Deliberately not paying attention will cause a massive problem in your relationships. The most important goal of a communication process is to exchange information and at the same time build stronger relationships. If your goal is to climb the corporate ladder, make the big sale, mediate conflict, or build better relationships with your family – became a better listener.

2. Interrupting – This mistake is easily resolved by simply re-learning our manners. It’s not polite to interrupt others while they are speaking. It demonstrates that you are a poor listener with a damaged self-esteem. It demonstrates your lack of concern for the person speaking, and also sends a signal to others that you are rude. This mistake will cause you to lose credibility quickly!

          ]]>

3. Criticism in Public – This is one of the fastest ways to annihilate your credibility, destroy your integrity, violate rapport, and lose friends. Please remember what I’m about to say now because it’s crucial: “Even if you are God Almighty, you have no right, nor the authority to criticize any human being in public.” Anyone who has had any basic training in people skills understands that all criticism MUST be done in private. Criticism must also be carried out with a goal to build the persons self esteem while at the same time correcting a behavior. Therefore, during a criticism process keep your focus on the behavior or situation, never the person or personality traits.

4. Sarcasm & Ridicule – Where criticism is usually aimed at a personal behavior; sarcasm and ridicule is usually a negative remark made directly about the person. It is always rude and used to create some type of mockery, harm or hurt feelings. If your communication goal is to create interconnectedness, rapport and build self-esteem, then avoid sarcasm & ridicule at all costs – especially in public.

5. Talking Down – Like sarcasm, ridicule, and criticism; this is another cardinal communication problem. It sends a message to the listener that you are smarter or more intelligent than they are. It conveys that you are above them in every way, while at the same time hurts feelings. The most important thing to remember is that talking down also conveys the message that your self-esteem is severely damaged. There are two ways to have the tallest building in the city: First – build the tallest building, or second – knock everyone else’s building down. How do you want to be remembered – as a builder or a destroyer?

6. Pompous Word Usage – Large words used in a conversation that you know the listener will not understand. These include all types of jargon, slang, lingo and “50 cent words used in a 10 cent conversation.” Pompous word usage is one of the fastest ways to turn a listener off. It creates a terrible separation between you and your listener. There are two types of people who use pompous words: First is the person who is so highly educated they know of no other way to express themselves. Second is the person who is simply trying to impress you. Remember it is extremely obfuscating to promulgate any type of complex or lengthy lexicon.

7. Gossip – I was brought up to never talk about anyone behind their back. Never say anything about anyone that you would not say to their face. Most of all when you gossip about others, you are not defining them, you are defining yourself as someone who needs to gossip. And everyone who has witnessed your gossip now knows you are “that” type of person. The avoidance of gossip does nothing but make you look good!

8. Making Yourself More Important than the Listener – As far as I’m concerned this final cardinal mistake of communication neatly sums up the last seven. You are well on your way to rock solid communication skills and healthy relationships if you approach everyone as if they are your equal. The fact is – they are!

I mentioned earlier that the most important rule I teach my students in our communications seminar is the importance of constantly reviewing and practicing “the basics.” Doing the “opposite” of these 8 are the basics. It’s proper and polite conversation at its finest. Remember to keep them “sacred” as we interact with others on a personal and professional level.

I wish you luck & success!

Since 2005, IPTV Rapidly becoming Radio , Telecommunications Of the most popular topic, is one of the most concern after following the video-on-demand value-added business. But the present mode of IPTV development in China not yet clear. In a few days ago, “The Development Model of China’s IPTV Road Forum”, host CCID Consulting pointed out that the construction of models in IPTV, should adopt “the Internet transform + special net” together to build IPTV network. If the user base is relatively concentrated area smaller, more appropriate use of special network programs, but for large-scale, cross-boundary of IPTV applications, using the Internet more convenient method of transformation. Operational mode, should a “third-party mode” for broadcasting telecommunications competing. Operating agency through a third party to do integration of resources, that is, the contents of + operations + network formed a triangular pattern.

Network transformation according to local conditions

IPTV network transformation involving key to access the device from the replacement building is almost equivalent to a new web, construction costs, except for a few developed cities, and municipal operators generally unable to independently undertake. Moreover, the multi-service bearing technology is very complex and demanding network operators, maintenance personnel, operators will inevitably lead to increased training costs, labor costs, operation and maintenance costs. How can the most expensive way to achieve the most effective network transformation it?

CCID Consulting analyst Li Yan Feng said that the construction of models in IPTV, should adopt “the Internet transform + special net” together to build IPTV network. If the user base is relatively concentrated area smaller, more appropriate use of special network programs, but for large-scale, cross-boundary of IPTV applications, using the Internet more convenient method of transformation.

Hangzhou figures TV The transformation of the company that the assistant director of technology strategy, IPTV network to be implemented in two-way transformation is subject to local conditions, network reconstruction can be covered after the first opening in the long run, “EPON + LAN” in the most cost effective way, this is also a large number of technologies used in Hangzhou . And “EPON + EOC” means the most easy to implement.

          ]]>

There is success in the IPTV case “Henan model”, whose main operations were in Zhengzhou Witco Electronic JIA Xiao-bo, president of technology that, IPTV is not conducive to building private network only on the network expansion. He said: “IPTV for AR PU Value is very low, but the market much, which can take minutes Cloth Style, modular structure of system development according to the user step by step expansion. ”

Has been Interactive TV The effective “big Ning mode” responsible person, Shanghai Daning Multimedia Valley Development Co. president Zhang Shouxuan Broadband Network, said: “Shanghai ‘big Ning mode’ uses a private network IP as the transport of the way through on the telephone line network transformation, so that residents of the Shanghai Changning District users have built every household The point to point exclusive 8M bandwidth, to achieve separation of interaction with the Internet network, not only ensures high-definition interactive TV, not interfere with the normal operation of the Internet. ”

Telecom competing for radio and television

Li Yan Feng Table Said, because telecommunications and broadcasting are all large enterprises, both IPTV power sector stakeholders as the short term, difficult to reconcile the fight against the initiative, the most feasible way is to have a body to do integration of resources operated by third parties. That is, the contents of + operations + network formation of such a model.

He also believed that Hangzhou, Henan, Shanghai, Daning reached the forefront of IPTV reason, mainly because they are cleverly avoided the dispute over broadcasting and telecommunications interests, he said: “Hangzhou is cases, Hangzhou IPTV and digital TV is bundled with the upgrade as a digital TV presence. It is a digital TV as the starting point, can effectively avoid the IPTV and digital TV between conflict. in the network transformation, the use of the IPTV + Hangzhou DVD Dual-mode access, a cable network is the original one is LAN broadband access network, different activities take two different networks, to avoid broadcasting and telecommunications in the interests of the dispute. ”

In addition, Shanghai’s “big Ning mode”, Shanghai is a content provider, Daning is a provider of operations, and telecommunications is a network provider can avoid the conflict of telecommunications and broadcasting.

JIA Xiao-bo that, IPTV the advantage of interaction, it should be the harmonious development of broadcasting and telecommunications, while the triple play of the final direction is unity in the terminal.

Case of Henan province, Henan Netcom Is the integration of IPTV business, Henan Wycombe, system solutions and provide STB Terminal. However, Henan Wycombe in a series of system implementation is not only a traditional equipment providers, the application process, because the desire to integrate resources from various ministries, Henan Wycombe has become a content integrated providers, and Henan Radio and Television also set up a joint venture to strengthen cooperation in program content. In fact, Henan IPTV already have “content + operations + network” in the “operation” of color.

Experts analysis, if third-party agencies to do IPTV operators in the broadcasting and telecommunications resources on the integration of third-party operators of power and resources must be matched with two more lines. In addition, the two joint venture companies by the way, may well be a solution. [Key words]: Business model should IPTV Network Comment Large In Small

Employee productivity suffers, along with a range of other business performance indicators.

Business Impact of Poor Communication

Have you stopped to think about how much unsatisfactory communication practices are costing your business? Some of these costs include:

increased employee turnover
increased absenteeism
dissatisfied customers from poor customer service
higher product defect rates
lack of focus on business objectives
stifled innovation

How many of these costs can you recognize in your business? You can turn the situation around. Employees will put in that extra “discretionary effort” when they are kept informed openly and honestly on aspects of their job and the business and they feel that they are being listened to with empathy.

Employee Communication Needs

What and how should you communicate with your employees? Communication in your organization should satisfy the three key employee needs before they can be engaged and highly productive. Each and every employee needs to:

1. Know that …

-included here are facts about your organization and their specific job – what business you are in, who your customers are, specific details about your product or service, where forms are located, who to see when there is a problem …

2. Master that …

-included here are the practical skills required to do their job well – repairing a machine, filling out an invoice, designing a building, writing a software program …

3. Feel that …

-included here are the interactions that give them a sense of belonging and self-worth – being listened to, respected, trusted, valued …

Managers predominantly concentrate on the first need – know that – and pay less attention to the second need to master skills. The third need – feel that – is what makes employees distinctly human and what drives them to outstanding achievement in work and outside of work. And yet it is in this dimension that employee communications are most lacking.

          ]]>

Look closely at the communication happening in your business. Is it satisfying what employees need to be fully engaged and working productively? Consider each of the four fundamental levels of communication in your organization for an answer:

1. Organization wide communication – involving all employees

2. Departmental communication – specific to one department or unit

3. Team communication – within one cohesive team or group

4. Individual communication – specific to one employee at any one time

Communications may be working effectively at higher levels, with regular and informative newsletters emanating from Head Office. However, the quality and quantity of communications may fail dismally at the more local level. The interpersonal skills of supervisors, team leaders and local managers are especially critical at levels 3 and 4, as these are the people that frontline workers develop working relationships with most personally and closely. Many exit surveys have shown that employees commonly leave an organization because of a poor working relationship with an immediate supervisor. How are the communication skills of the supervisors in your organization?

Just as important is the communication between and within levels. Gone are the days when departments could stand as silos, isolated from the rest of the organization by impenetrable barriers. Intra-national and international competition is now so fierce that everyone in the organization needs to collaborate closely on solving organizational challenges and on achieving agreed strategic objectives. What are the communication barriers in your organization?

Where is your organization at in its life-cycle? Is it large or growing rapidly? As more people are added to an organization, communication needs and stresses increase exponentially. Joe, who used to do purchasing, inspection and warehousing on his own now needs to talk to three other departments as well as the people in his own growing team. What structures, systems and processes has your organization put in place to encourage and facilitate effective communication flow?

Well-designed organizational culture surveys and employee communication surveys can determine how well your communication systems and practices are contributing to your organization’s performance – or how much they are hindering performance. This information will then help you in devising an effective employee communication strategy. Whatever else you do, communication practices impact every facet of your business. Looking closely at communication in your organization is well worth your while, because even if you do not, your employees are.

Having effective team communication skills is a crucial requirement for both leaders and team members alike. It allows you to establish harmonious relationships, fully understand the team’s intention, share your ideas easily, and even impress other team members.

This article will reveal how to acquire effective team communication skills so you can boost your career to the next level.

Listen Well.

Some people end up being poor listeners because they would daydream or think of something else instead of listening attentively to the speaker. Focus on the other party’s message instead of thinking in advance on what to say next.

Don’t let the speaker’s manner of speaking, background or experience, outside appearance, race, religion, etc. distort your judgment in understanding the meaning of the message.

Never speak when the other person is talking. That is plain impolite. Wait a few seconds after the other party stops speaking before you talk. When it’s time for you to speak, avoid changing subjects because this indicates your disinterest; this is also a sign of disrespect.

          ]]>

Listening and clearly understanding the other party’s messages are the most effective team communication skills; so make sure you listen more than you talk. We’re given two ears and one mouth for a good reason.

Speak Clearly and Purposefully.

If you didn’t understand anything said by a speaker, kindly ask him to repeat or clarify what he said. Always show respect, courtesy and politeness.

Give meaningful feedback and suggestions. Get straight to the point, but always think before you speak. If possible, show proof or statistics that validate your proposal. Your ideas are more readily acceptable if they are supported by facts or explanations.

Don’t close your mind to ideas that may sound unfeasible or ridiculous at first. Remember that many of the world’s greatest discoveries have been previously rejected or even laughed at.

Choosing the right words is one of the most effective team communication skills. For example, you could say, “we have a challenge” instead of “we have a problem” to minimize stress or tension. You could say, “this is an awesome deal” instead of “this is a fair offer” to express your interest.

Be aware of the body language signals you’re conveying while speaking. You may not have said anything offensive, but your body subconsciously communicates your inner emotions, so be aware of your actions and gestures all the time. When you speak, maintain eye contact and maintain a confident posture. Don’t cross your arms, roll your eyes or purse lips as these imply disrespect.

Sometimes, having a sense of humor can be a great addition to your effective team communication skills. It overcomes boredom and dead air. But you should be keen enough to know when the right time is. You don’t want to be humorous in the middle of a serious conversation.

Never criticize in public. If you have something to say that might offend or humiliate a member, restrain yourself. Talk to the person in private. It saves him face.

If you share these tips on utilizing effective team communication skills to other members, don’t be surprised on how quickly your team can accomplish its goals.

It is not an easy task to develop good communication skills. However, by taking one step at a time, you can achieve this goal. So the steps to develop verbal communication skills are as follows:
1. ORAL – This is one of the most important as well as the most used verbal communication skills. Oral communication is all about the spoken word. By taking care of this aspect of communication skills, you will get a chance to enhance your conversational skills. If we again take one step at a time, developing verbal skills would encompass the following:

a) Speaking – This aspect entails being a master of your tongue. It is through this that you will be able to develop your verbal communication skills. A lot of people only speak, without saying anything. You need to understand the difference between these two. Being a successful speaker entails thinking before saying things. Many learned people have often advocated the principle of ‘ Nine thoughts to each word’. This way, we will be able to say the right things most of the time as we will have the time to mull over what you are going to say. We should realize the importance of verbal communication skills and develop and nurture it.

          ]]>

All of us having used this medium of communication for all our lives take it for granted. This is why language is deteriorating these days. People do not even pay attention to grammar.

b) Listening – The first thing here is that one should understand the difference between listening and hearing. We cannot consciously control our hearing but listening is something we choose to do. Listening encompasses both hearing what others say and understanding it as well. To become an effective conversationalist, one must learn how to listen.

2. WRITTEN – Technology has grown so advanced today that the written word does not hold much importance. Finding writing too much effort, people nowadays avoid it. However to be able to record and transit everything, this medium is extremely essential.

a. Writing – The importance of writing has diminished considerably because of the growth in technology. Even till a few years back, the effectiveness of written communication skills depended on the legibility of one’s handwriting. But now, the entire focus has shifted to grammar and spelling in order to hone written communication skills. You can take the opinion of others and find out if the correct message is being transmitted through your writing. This will determine the effectiveness of your writing.

b. Reading – It is important to read messages in their right content and interpret them correctly. The message need to be interpreted as the writer has meant it. This is especially important where laws, memorandums and other “official” written correspondence is concerned. You need practice and patience in order to develop verbal communication skills. By reading more, you will not only be able to hone your reading skills, but your other communication skills as well.

Although it may not be a very popular form of employment, operations research analysts play a vital role in laying down systems according to the requirements. Operations analysts are employed in almost all leading sectors like the armed forces, telecommunications, traffic management, banking and finance, insurance, research organizations and consulting firms.

Operations Research Analyst – Job Description

There are several critical tasks that these analysts need to handle as a part of their routine work. Some of the major functions are as follows:

1. If working for traffic management, operations research analysts carefully study the traffic flow at a certain junction and then accordingly set the traffic signal. They need to ensure that traffic flows smoothly and there are no traffic jams.

2. Operations analysts also need to set up new traffic management systems in areas with no existing system at all.

3. Their services are also required for public management in large shopping centers and cafeterias. The analysts must bear in mind the layout of the area and create a system wherein there would be no major blockages and people can move around freely.

          ]]>

4. Also, they also provide recommendations to the management staff about the number of personnel required to handle the public. Also, they help in choosing the vital points where personnel must be particularly deployed.

5. The oldest sector wherein operations analysts have been pressed into service is the armed forces. During wars, the analysts are responsible for deploying forces and supplied where needed and closely monitor enemy movements like enemy submarines.

6. In large corporate houses and multinational corporations, the analysts play a key role in designing systems so as to effectively manage the man-power, finances and equipments.

7. Their job also involves finalizing business strategies, planning and forecasting along with allocating resources, managing supply chain, improve on the distribution network and analyze the large database of the company.

8. Yet another key function of operations analysts is to use mathematical and statistical models, linear programming and computer modeling to analyze the data to create reports based on which major policy decisions can be taken. To derive any concrete solutions, they must first drilldown the data and divide it into different components. Every component is then given a mathematical value and the mathematical relationship between these components is studied to derive actionable insights. Every part that is broken down must be analyzed minutely as often more than one part can be problematic.

9. Often it is possible that analysts may not be able to devise any concrete structure for a specific problem. Thus, in such cases they also need to devise test plans and measure its success rate before actually finalizing the plan.

Salary

The average salary for operations research analysts is ,000. However, fresh candidates with no experience start with much lower packages of ,000. To get a higher package or an entry into a larger firm, freshers must get their resumes done from professional agencies. Another alternative is to scan sample resumes and draft their CVs accordingly.

With an increase in experience, the salary would also increase and can reach up to ,000.

An operations analyst job is specialized and fundamental and requires the candidates to be able to formulate efficient systems and processes.

Business communications are more critical to businesses around the world today than they ever have been before. How the world corresponds has altered, meaning that the pace and effectiveness of correspondence lines in business is integral. As a way to stay competitive in such an environment it’s vital for firms to adapt to new communications technologies and adopt them the minute they become accessible. This can make sure that firms can remain at the forefront of their industry. Unified communications is an illustration of one particular advancement.

Unified communications draws upon a number of present day communications technologies and combines them in a single user interface. This may encompass file transfer, conferencing, video messaging, instant messaging, e-mail and voice calls. This integration can enhance the speed at which employees are capable of performing, thus improving the over-all efficiency of the company. Unified communications have the potential to revolutionise the way in which any company conducts its business irrespective of the company’s size or the market wherein it functions. Keeping in contact with clients and suppliers or even other staff members in the business has never been more convenient.

          ]]>

Unified communications also allow staff to see the present status of those which they are endeavoring to speak to. This will save on time which would have been squandered attempting to get in touch with unavailable associates. Unified communications in addition allows users to select a mode of communication that is most appropriate to their requirements at that time. This might be determined by the time of day, where the contact is, the importance of the correspondence or even just the personal preference of the contact.

Nonetheless, firms should make certain to put into practice the proper infrastructure before fully implementing unified communications. All facets of an integrated communications system function by way of a high speed broadband network. As a result, the network controlled by the business must have the capacity with regards to bandwidth as a way to allow smooth and consistent communications. In order to attain this, an MPLS VPN may prove to be very helpful. An MPLS VPN system facilitates users to delegate bandwidth to various business components, in accordance with their significance.

With such great stress placed on communications in the modern business world it is crucial that businesses are able to correspond via the preferred means of their customers. Far reaching preferences mean that this might lead to countless and complicated channels of communication. However, through the use of unified communications businesses can substantially simplify their communications requirements and make certain that they operate with the greatest proficiency. Moreover, by using MPLS VPN integrated communications consumers can ensure sleek, steady and reliable communications whenever they are needed. This should ensure any business is able to be in good stead for future years.

With almost all TVs sold in the Asia Pacific soon becoming fully High Definition (HD)-capable, better image quality will no longer be sufficient to boost consumer equipment purchasing, or to differentiate one offering from the next. HD is clearly a revenue opportunity for Asia’s pay TV operators, with many HD channels requiring an individual subscription. Over half of the 35 Asian pay TV operators, representing polled in a recent industry survey now offer HD.

Among pay TV platforms in Asia, bundling is on the increase. 80% of operators in the region now offer bundled packages, up from 60% a year ago. The main driver behind bundling for industry players is increased new subscriptions. From the audience perspective, bundling makes navigating the increasingly wide choice of channels easier by providing ‘branded’ packages that are easy to identify with.

Operators with more advanced platforms (IPTV, digital cable) have better technical ability to customize their bundle offerings. Analog providers are not able to compete at the same level.

Disenchantments in 2010
Having appeared to have generated a lot of interest in the industry and indeed a certain amount of investment, gaming delivered over pay TV platforms and mobile TV are both starting to look like something of a busted flush.

The jury is still out on mobile TV, with opinion split on the future opportunity and many operators just not knowing whether there is revenue potential there or not. While operators with carefully considered mobile strategies that tie into a wider digital offering may be generating money, 42% of the operators polled in the 2010 Asia-Pacific Pay TV Operators Survey by GIA and ContentAsia are still unsure of the potential.

Less than one in five operators see gaming as an area of future opportunity. The titles and quality available across pay TV systems simply do not compete with those on dedicated consoles or PC platforms, making a gaming suite now more of a hygiene factor than a selling point.

Changes expected in the Asian Pay TV landscape for 2011
Asia’s Pay-TV industry players are turning their attention to new technologies, such as IPTV and 3D TV. According to the GIA/ContentAsia survey, about a third of the Asia-Pacific region’s pay TV operators currently provide IPTV services. IPTV is also the technology that is seen as the greatest future opportunity, aside from HD. A further third of the operators anticipate potential future subscriber demand for TV delivered over the Internet.

However, IPTV is as much of a threat to some operators as it is an opportunity. Almost one in three operators polled said they see TV, movie and video content distributed over the Internet – whether legally or illegally – as a threat to their future success.

This is a view held mainly by cable operators, especially those with analogue infrastructure, as it allows relatively “new to the game” telecommunication companies to play in the Pay TV space and compete with the incumbent players on a canted field. The telcos have the advantage of a pre-existing infrastructure and with little additional capital expenditure required can focus their efforts and their budgets on content acquisition, sales and marketing.

Furthermore, operators with more advanced platforms such as IPTV and digital cable have better technical ability to customize their offerings. Programming targeting niche audiences such as youth, women or specific ethnic segments is on the rise in Asia. Operators are increasingly moving into production and content generation in order to meet the needs of their local audience. Programmers focusing on selected genres, such as Chinese language, are emerging, particularly in Hong Kong, with its strong tradition of home-grown movie and TV production.

          ]]>

Key concerns for 2011
Piracy will remain a key concern, especially in developing Southeast Asian markets. Efforts to curb unauthorized viewing have been increasingly successful in recent years, and now need to continue if the benefits to the industry and ultimately to viewers and advertisers are to be fully realized.

With the advent of digital set-top boxes, it’s now more about picking and choosing than ever before. Audiences can be very selective about content and skip the advertising. Programmers and advertisers need to come to terms with this new reality Blockbuster content is important to gain attention, and exploring new ways of integrating advertisers’ – and increasingly sponsors’ – brands and messages into that content is essential. Programmers must engage with specific audiences and stay very focused on the core values of each channel offering if they want to build viewership and pull in the big money.

About the 2010 Asia-Pacific Pay TV Operators Survey
Produced by Global Intelligence Alliance in cooperation with ContentAsia, the 2010 Asia-Pacific Pay TV Operators Survey polled senior managers at 35 operators in 14 countries across the region. The objectives of the survey were to take the temperature of the pay TV industry at a time of enormous change, and to offer objective insights into the mindsets of the people and companies that have the biggest influence on TV channels’ businesses today – the region’s pay-TV operators.

The operators interviewed represent 67.2 million subscribers, covering about 43% of the estimated universe of 154.9 million subscribers. The 14 (out of the 35) operators who agreed to be identified are listed below.

Australia: Foxtel
Brunei: Kristal Astro
Hong Kong: Hong Kong Broadband, TVB Pay Vision, Hong Kong Cable TV
India: Indusind
Japan: WOWOW, J:Com

Pakistan: Asia Media Group
Philippines: Southern Cablevision, Global Destiny
Singapore: Starhub
Taiwan: Wonderful Cable
Vietnam: Vietnam Cable
